May 23 Bridgeport Hospital Auxiliary Gala to support renovations
|The Bridgeport Hospital Auxiliary will host its annual spring gala Thursday, May 23, at the Birchwood Country Club in Westport.|
The event will honor the United Illuminating Company (UI) for its support of the hospital’s Connecticut Burn Center and other critical care services. UI has donated nearly $500,000 to the hospital over the years, most recently to help support the extensive Burn Center modernization project completed in 2012.
(Left to right) Gala Co-Chairs Kathleen Sauer and Marlene Fisher, both of Southport, UI Chief Operating Officer John Prete, Gala Auction Chair Amparo Castillo of Monroe, Auxiliary Vice President Anne Wright of Trumbull and Auxiliary President Ulla Atweh of Westport.
Proceeds from this year’s gala will go toward the renovation of the SurgEase waiting room area. Design plans for the work are nearing completion and a preliminary budget is being reviewed.
The co-chairs of the gala are Marlene Fischer and Kathleen Sauer, both of Southport. Auxiliary member Amparo Castillo of Monroe, wife of SurgEase Medical Director Jairo (Ed) Castillo, MD, is chairing the gala auction.
